Both spot dye sublimation and full dye sublimation cut & sew  products use the same print type "Dye Sublimation", however they differ in this way. The spot dye sublimation process prints onto already made color shirts. This reduces the cost while still delivering a premium product, but there are limitations. The graphics must be printed on specific areas of the existing garment, like: chest and back. Because spot sublimation prints over the existing shirt color and printers do not print “white ink”, unlike full dye sublimation which can print any colored shirt and graphic, spot dye sublimation looks best when printed onto light colored shirts. Light colors cannot be printed onto a pre made dark garment, so for this reason only light colored custom fishing shirts are offered for spot sublimation

The difference between full dye sublimation cut & sew and spot dye sublimation is that full dye sublimation first prints the graphics and the shirt color at the same time directly onto premium white U.V fabric before the shirt is made. Then the fabric is expertly cut and sewn into a final retail quality performance fishing shirt. This allows for virtually any color shirt to be produced, including graphic placement anywhere on the garment (See below image).

Dye sublimation printers do not print white ink, but because this “from scratch” process prints the graphics and any shirt color directly onto white fabric, this allows us to print any color graphics you wish because the computer can use the white of the fabric in replacement of white ink! The result is a retail quality shirt.
